Mad RV's history is rooted in Mad Campers, a Kiwi campervan rental company established in 2017 by three mates who believed the best way to see New Zealand was by hitting the road.

The original company began with a couple of self-contained vans and rapidly became one of the country's most recognized camper rental brands. They developed and refined a full fleet of innovative campers, including the Nomad, Mad Adventurer, Mad Explorer, and Mad Tracker.

Mad RV is the next step, leveraging years of customer feedback, thousands of hires, and thousands of kilometers of experience, which taught the founders that comfort, practicality, and real-world reliable gear are what truly matter to travelers. This knowledge was applied to create a range of New Zealand-designed products, including caravans, hybrid campers, and slide-on ute campers. These products are described as simple, tough, and built for the trips Kiwis actually take.
